Marine for Christ: Daniel Guiffreda 

My name is Daniel Guiffreda and I was deployed last year with 3/23 Marines to The city of Al Kut in Iraq. During that time I learned alot about life and the culture around me. I saw alot of hardship and suffering on the part of the Iraqi people and the effects an oppresive leader had on there lives.There were times when lonliness would set in and when I got extemly ill from a virus that swept through the company and mixed with the heat life got miserable at times. But through all that happened God taught me a valuable lesson that I had always heard but God used this to show me and that is He truly is all that matters. When all else is stripped away all that matters is your relationship with Jesus Christ. When I would open the Bible and begin to read ,though my body was tired my spirit would rejoice. God truly is faithful and even in moments when things got very tense I had a peace that passed all understanding and that comes only from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is so great and so personal and I give Him the honor and glory for getting us all home safley and for His mighty hand of comfort and guidance in a land for from my own.Thank you Jesus.
