A Short Insight Into God's Grace
(Note:
In this short insight, there are little numbers (example: 1/,2/,3/,etc)
for the purposeof asking you questions to think about the points
of the paragraph. It is the hope of thewriter that they may
benefit the reader.)
You want to
know how gracious God is, to those whom He love? We can have
a short insight on that by the way believers stand firm in their
belief.
In
2Corinthians 1:24, we find that on the latter half of the verse,
"it is by faith you stand firm. Question
1
Going above three
verses earlier, we see that in 2Corinthians
1:21 it states: "Now it is GOD who makes both us
and you stand firm in Christ." (Underline and capitalization
is added by author for effect) Question
2
Faith, which is the
very essence that keeps us standing firm in Christ, is actually
a gift from God! Through it, "He has anointed us, set
his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as
a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come." (Latter art of 2Cor.
1:21 with 2Cor.1:22) Question
3
What does this all
mean? Anointing refers back to the Old Testament time in which a
priest was "commission" into service by having oil poured
on him. When God has anointed you, He has allowed you to serve
Him, giving you a higher purpose in life. Also, God has put
his Spirit in our hearts too, saying, "You are now mine!",
and with this deposit, it promises of the things in the Word about
our eternal future.
In summary, by God's grace alone
through faith alone, He has provided:
-
Ability to receive the gift
of Eternal lasting life
-
Ability to stand firm in
Jesus Christ
-
The gift of faith to begin
with
-
God's commission to serve
him with a purpose in life
-
Worshipping Him
Sometimes, in the
pain, the struggle and the hub of life in this chaotic world of
ours, we might forget or become apathetic to towards the loving
truth of God. It's my prayer that those who read this would
stop for a moment and reflect upon the graciousness of God's love.
May you connect yourself to Him. Especially if you never had
so before, email or AIM me so we can talk more about this. Question
