Back from Iraq!

Written: 9/30/03

Dear all,

As some of you who know me might have known, I was deployed overseas to Iraq for five months as a Marine field radio operator in an infantry battatlion. It has been a time of trials, faith being tested and God's forging me and my characters in many ways. Being in the marines is a business of dealing with evil and wicked men, be it your Iraqi street thugs, Islamic religious fundalmentalists, Baath Party members (yes, including those that have massacred innocent civilians the first war) and even power-trippng Marines. To live out one's faith as a "Marine FOR CHRIST" was indeed a battle of its own.

In the coming weeks, the website would have materials related to the Iraqi marine experience. This would include testimonies, poems written in Iraq, "sermons" adapted from our own field Bible Studies and of course, pictures.

For those that have prayed for me and other military men during the war, I thank you. Praise God for what He has done. The deployment was probably for me, my safest missionary trip to the middle east (We had M-16s to protect ourselves). Our little network of Marines For Christ distributed 250 Arabic tracts. We had Bible studies with other Marines, even finishing the Book of Galatians.

It has been God all the way. I was not perfect nor any of the other believing Marines. But its about Christ. He died for our sins. We live for Him because of Him and by Him.

Enjoy the Website. Enjoy the Lord.

IN HIM,
A MARINE FOR CHRIST,
JIMMY LI
