What
Is a Worldview?
What
is a Worldview?
1.) It is
our foundation and ultimate presupposition
2.) It is the way in which we view the World
A. It deals
with the question of:
1.) Physics
(What is the Physical World)
2.)
Metaphysics (What is also in this world beyond the physical)
3.)
Epistemology (How do you know what you know?)
4.)
Ethics (How should we live?)
B. Another
way of thinking about it:
1.) Who
are you?
2.)
Why are you here? (PURPOSE?)
3.)
Why does the world exist instead of not exist?
4.)
How did the World come about?
5.)
Where are you going when you die?
Everyone
has a Worldview
Just ask anyone:
1.) What is
reality?
2.)
How do you know what you know?
3.)
How shall we then live?

The
building blocks' to one's Worldview, if they are to be rational,
are interconnected (or Circular); if not, your worldview would not
be able to account for certain things, and you would have arbitrary
beliefs.
For
instance, your epistemology (how you know what you know) will determine
the content of what you know (your physics and metaphysics); yet,
what you know (physics, metaphysics) will help determine one's theory
of knowledge (epistemology).
As
Christian the Bible should dictate our Worldview.
For
other worldviews, we critique their ideas to see if they can account
for certain things and experiences.
